About Me

Hi,
I am glad to welcome you to my blog which will take you through a refreshing journey of art, as reflected in my eyes. My relationship with art and creativity began from the day I was born, perhaps, with my name which, in Hindu culture, means an artist; a sculptor to be precise.

I remember how involved and fascinated I was with arts, since childhood, as I took up art activities and crafts during my early school. I also took clay modeling as my activity later in school. All through, my pristine bond with art only strengthened with time. I still recall engaging in many types of paintings and sketching during my childhood. Unfortunately, I did not keep note of record of most of my paintings I did very early in my life, but I still recall the immense joy I gained from them. I also attended an arts competition of painting and won 3rd prize in it. I drew from my imagination at that time. Infact, to be frank, art was a medium for pure and unbounded expression and freedom for me.I found that I could actually talk my heart out to my art and convey my deepest untold emotions through it.I went out to study engineering in my high school and am still studying it ; specifically my field is Materials Science & Engineering, here at UC, Ohio. But I have to admit, art never left me. I found the deepest urge of arts and creativity grabbing my soul and urging me to let flow the creativity.

I remember how in my freshman life in college in Chandigarh, I happened to attend a collage painting workshop by a renowned artist. After explaining the collage painting technique, he asked us to indulge in collage painting and make something in 30 minutes. I can still remember the words of that teacher who grabbed my work, inspected it for some seconds, put it down, drew some black lines as finishing touches and then exclaimed,"Do not underestimate what you have made. It is a very rare piece of art! Get it framed and not throw it away!". I still have that collage painting hanging in my home in India.

My journey of art began in full swing, when I was introduced to some techniques of acrylic painting by a person here in Cincinnati, who himself was an avid lover of art and a hidden artist!Since then, I have been mostly self-taught or used books , media and workshops held in Kenwood, Cincinnati, to explore the realm of art!
I share with you here some of my work, even though its the beginning for me.
